August 24 - 27, 2007

The pursuit of the perfect getaway ...? Well, maybe not "perfect" and perhaps not really a "getaway" ...

u-uh ... somewhere to go - away from somewhere else, ... uh, maybe in a forest wilderness? or at least a park?

As it turned out, a set of circumstances forced the modification of the "canoe camping" trip into a "car camping with canoeing" trip.

PLANNING SCHEDULE

Planning involves making lists, and here are a few that you should pay close attention to:

    • TRAVEL PLAN:
    Departure from "home" set for Friday, August 24, 2007 by car (Uncle Mas with Les in Car 1, and Len, Lindsay & Kimiko in Car 2). Arrive at Tea Lake Campgrounds in Algonquin Park for first night car camp.

    Saturday, August 25, 2007: Staging area at Canoe Lake Portage Store, embark on first leg of canoe trip. Arrive at Parkside Bay on Ragged Lake by end of afternoon for first day canoe base camp. Camp for 2 days.

    Monday, August 27, 2007: Depart base camp for return trip home at noon. Arrive at Canoe Lake Portage Store by end of afternoon. Have dinner at Portage Store Restaurant, then depart for "home".
